Actress

Thorunn Lar is a Reykjavik based Icelandic actress with over twenty five years experience in the field.

She studied at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London.

She has worked with all major theatre companies in Iceland. Her most renowned theatre roles include Sally Bowles in Cabaret, which earned her a nomination for the Icelandic Theatre Awards, Gríman, The manager in Contractions, Audrey in the Little Shop of Horrors, Dada in Locusts, Annette in God of Carnage and Lina Lamont in Singing in the Rain, to name a few. 

She was a contracted leading lady with the National Theatre of Iceland for over a decade. Her roles there were equally dramatic, comic and musical.  

She is a board member of Stockfish International Film Festival in Reykjavík, Iceland. 

Her tv and film roles include Milla (lead) in All the colours of the ocean are cold and Helga in Manhunt. 

She is quite physical, dances and stage fights at an intermediate level.

 

She speaks RP English on a native level, elementary Italian, Danish, Spanish and German and has an exeptionally good ear for accents.
